February - The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane

by Katherine Howe

The author, Katherine Howe, is a descendent of two women that were named as witches during the Salem witch trials, Elizabeth Proctor and Elizabeth Howe. One survied, and  one did not. Harvard graduate student Connie Goodwin is drawn deep into the mysteries of her grandmother's Salem, Mass. house by a yellowing fragment of parchment found with the name of Deliverance Dane written upon it. It leads Connie to a a physick book containing pages with lost knowledge. It leads us through one of the most fascinating and disturbing periods of American history -- the Salem witch trials.
